Bredonborough.
Building work continues at World HQ & new bookshelves went into Office No. 4, followed by a builder’s meeting to maintain forward motion. Also this morning: a telephone conversation with Mr. Gordon Stomach, who promises to send a CD of unreleased Fripp & Eno tracks today. Some of these are alternative versions of released material, and some will be unknown by innocent audients.
E-flurrying is without end. From the DGM Live Guestbook…

What a bizarre vision of Iggy Pop fronting Crimson singing Dog Food... That really made me laugh!
I must point out that Iggy Pop has been a Fripp fan for many years. When Brian Eno first met Bowie and Pop during the summer of 1976 he was amazed that they could both sing, note for note, much of "(No Pussyfooting)".
Iggy was present in Berlin during the "Heroes" sessions and would almost certainly have met Robert then (can Robert confirm this?).
On his autumn 1979 American tour Iggy used tapes of Frippertronics as the warm up music before he hit the stage - but I believe that no Frippertronics (apart from odd tracks such as "Water Music II") had been released by October 1979 - so where did Iggy get the tapes from? Anyone know?
Not in Berlin. We didn’t meet (if my wits are true) until 1980 in NYC, I believe at the Irving Plaza. It may have been after a League of Gentleman show. I wasn’t aware of The Iggamus using Frippertronics tapes in 1979. Frippertronics began in February 1978 at The Kitchen in Soho, and following two months of touring
Europe & two months in North American during the first half of 1979, there was mucho material recorded before the Autumn of 1979. These tapes were stored at the EG office in NYC but it seems unlikely that these were used. Did Iggamus play parts of Fripp & Eno’s No Pussyfooting or Evening Star?
16.52 A promoter has been in touch. He would like King Crimson for performances in Montreal & at a progressive festival in France & expressed interest in ProjeKct Six for Montreal. I replied that France wasn’t a goer, and working Canada was difficult. The promoter replied in turn…
I just would like to know for what reasons, it’s "difficult" in Canada (is it about visas, past gigs (problems with promoter, audience or musician’s salaries?)?)
My reply to his reply to my reply to his enquiry…
yes! to all. the amount of photography is only one factor that has put me off canadian audiences. visas & border controls are another. if i have to fight to get to audiences that spoil my performance, i go elsewhere.
you will find other artists much easier to deal.
20.39 Online with Greenville Soundscapes vibrating on the noise cancellators. E-frenzying of mildly heroic proportions have almost dealt with the flow of new e-mails, leaving a pile (298) for filing.
Plans to visit the GC team in Seattle at the beginning of May, prior to the Slow Music tour, may include a Soundscape performance at the GC house.
